									<p>The European Commission in 2021 and UNESCO in 2022 both stated that while universities have the potential to significantly contribute to the advancement of gender equality, diversity, and inclusivity, both within higher education and throughout society, they still frequently display gender biases and are overwhelmingly male-dominated. Faculty members frequently deal with microaggressions, discrimination, quid pro quo deals, and harassment based on gender from their coworkers or people in authority positions. Both students and faculty frequently encounter unfair treatment and discrimination in higher education because of their sexual orientation.</p><p>The initiative by G-FORCE&#8217;s partners to create a network of universities or a European alliance is motivated by a combination of the aforementioned elements as well as a recognition of the significant gender-related challenges in academic institutions. This network is dedicated to advancing gender parity and fighting for the acceptance of sexual orientation by promoting equality and providing cutting-edge digital tools and resources.</p><p> </p><p>Principal Objectives: </p><ul><li>to equip academic staff and higher education students—who come from all gender groups—to combat gender bias through gender equality awareness, capacity building on gender issues, and promotion of gender equality goals.</li><li>to provide cutting-edge products and training tools that serve as learning resources that are tailored to needs and are a foundation for upcoming graduate and postgraduate programs.</li><li>to give them more power by utilizing ICT&#8217;s advantages and digitizing learning content of the highest quality.</li><li>to develop the G-FORCE Al+ Artificial Intelligence Proficiency Assistant and Networking Center, a digital support center offering specialized and personalized information on gender equality issues as well as on gender discrimination, violence, and sexual harassment.</li></ul><div><p>G-FORCE is a consortium made up of 6 partners from 5 countries (Greece, Spain, Romania, Italy, and Cyprus): PANTEION PANEPISTIMIO KOINONIKON KAI POLITIKON EPISTIMON, XENIOS POLIS, UNIVERSIDAD DE CADIZ, SC GRIPEN EUROPE S.R.L, UNIVERSITÀ DEGLI STUDI DELLA TUSCIA, RESEARCH AND EDUCATION OF SOCIAL EMPOWERMENT AND TRANSFORMATION- RESET LTD)</p></div>								</div>

<p>The main objective of GREENO2 is to promote the practice of green roofs as sustainable centers for research, participation and environmental consciousness in urban higher education institutions.</p>
<p>The project is in line with the European Green Deal Communication, with the European Commission’s EU 2021 Strategy on Adaptation to Climate Change and with the EU Biodiversity Strategy for 2030 that calls for green roofs to restore urban biodiversity.</p>
<p>The project aims to:</p>
<ol>
<li>promote green roofs as the academic community’s response to environmental protection, activate participation and well-being in higher education,</li>
<li>provide environmental awareness education through green roofing,</li>
<li>encourage the implementation of green roofs as centres for research and environmental consciousness, study and/or recreation area, ect.</li>

<p class="has-text-align-left" style="text-align: justify;">The <strong>FATOS2U </strong>project emerges in light of young citizens&#8217; exposure to large-scale misinformation, including misleading or outright false information. It aims to enable young people to develop their critical thinking, strengthen democracy and fight manipulation, propaganda and fake news. In this context, it expects citizens to participate responsibly in matters of major social interest (e.g. COVID-19).</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">FATOS2U involves 5 partners (ASDPESO, XENIOS POLIS, GRIPEN EUROPE, Mine Vaganti and NGO Nest) from 5 different countries (Portugal, Greece, Romania, Italy and Germany).</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The main objectives of the project are:</p>

<li>To provide young people with the opportunity to navigate correctly and &#8220;ethically&#8221; in the modern news era and to make informed decisions.</li>
</ul>
<ul style="text-align: justify;">
<li>To empower young people and enhance their awareness on dealing with the consequences of disinformation campaigns and fake news spread through digital mass media on issues of major and mainstream interest to their society.</li>
</ul>
<ul style="text-align: justify;">
<li>To educate young people to foster a critical appreciation and understanding of the media within a rapidly changing and increasingly multi-layered media &amp; news landscape.</li>
</ul>
<ul style="text-align: justify;">
<li>To determine a clear and inclusive educational approach to address the spread and impact of online fake news in Europe, protecting European values, democratic systems and young people&#8217;s right to a wide variety of trustworthy information on current affairs.</li>
</ul>

<p>It aspires to address the needs of the health professionals for further skilling, re-and up skilling, with a specific Vocational Education and Training (VET) curriculum updated on further needs-centered skills building and adapted to labour market needs. UNIHEAL+ targets both the health professionals and their educators.</p>
<p>UNIHEAL+ takes into account the priorities of European agenda for digitizing health care. Therefore, the target groups will become familiar with the eHealth and mHealth solutions and possibilities, data analysis, computer literacy, medical devices compatibility, data protection programs, mobile applications, cloud storage, surfing internet, and the ability to read, understand and forward information using a smart device.</p>
<p>In this context, UNIHEAL+ aims to:</p>
<ul>
<li>identify the significance of digital health services deriving from the recent health situation/emergency and the dominance of the ICT context in personal and professional life,</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>equip health professionals to better deliver their jobs, by digital health services training, thus improving their use of computational technologies, smart devices, communication media, etc,</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>maximize potential in their employment through the recognition of skills and qualifications due to the EQF, ECVET &amp; ECTS units,</li>
<li>construct well-stepped units of training, educational materials, work-based scenarios, guides for the VET educators as well Health services providers, such as nursing and midwifery professionals.</li>

<p align="justify">On 20th of November 2021, an online seminar with the title “ROMANIA &amp; GREECE: COMMON STRUGGLE FOR GENDER EQUALITY IN THE WORKPLACE” was organized by GRIPEN Europe with the support of three organizations: <a href="https://www.facebook.com/afrg.gr" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Association of Romanian Women from Greece</a>, <a href="https://xeniospolis.gr/el/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Xenios Polis</a> and <a href="https://excessmachina.gr/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Excess Machina</a>.</p>



<p align="justify">Due to COVID-19 pandemic, the event took place virtually on Google Meet. Its initial goal was to familiarize stakeholders with the major aims and objectives of FENCE project related to gender and to actively engage and motivate the participants to use the outputs of the project, with a main focus on the online platform.</p>



<p align="justify">The seminar was open for all those that had registered beforehand. Among the 17 participants there were students, educators, project managers, members and representatives of private organizations both from Romania and Greece. The keynote speaker of the event was Ana-Maria Cuciureanu, the administrator of the Association of Romanian Women from Greece. In her speech <em>“Romania – Greece: gender (in)equality in two countries. Statistics &amp; facts”, </em>it was highlighted that according to Gender Equality Index 2020, the two countries are at the bottom among the 27 EU Member States in gender equality (Romania 25<sup>th</sup>, Greece 27<sup>th</sup>).</p>



<p align="justify">Afterwards, the outputs of the FENCE project were briefly presented and discussed demonstrating the urgent need for gender equality, especially in the workplace. &nbsp;XENIOS POLIS, a partner organization from Greece, conducted the presentation of the five FENCE Intellectual Outputs (IOs):</p>

<p align="justify">After the presentation of the digital platform and the tutorial video created by FENCE consortium, participants prompted to use it for their personal and professional development. GRIPEN, also, presented the idea of creating an (e)HelpDesk for women who face discrimination in the workplace and in their personal life, in order to achieve the sustainability of FENCE project.&nbsp;</p>



<p align="justify">The end of the seminar was dedicated to the general discussion. For this purpose, GRIPEN planned an interactive activity. During the discussion, participants shared their real-life stories on gender discrimination and highlighted the complexity of the project, its openness to anyone interested, as well as the usage of open-source tools.</p>

<p>On 29<sup>th</sup> of September 2021, an online seminar with the title “CUBES – Innovating Cultural Heritage” was organized by GRIPEN Europe. Due to COVID-19 pandemic, the event took place virtually through ZOOM platform. Its goal was to familiarize stakeholders with the major aims and objectives of CUBES project and to actively engage and motivate the participants to use the outputs of the project, with a main focus on the online platform.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The seminar was open for all those that had registered beforehand. Among the 19 participants there were students, researchers, instructors, academics, members and representatives of cultural organizations. Besides these, GRIPEN invited a keynote speaker: Dr Efi Ntrouva (Panteion University of Athens). In her talk “The use of Digital Technologies and Media in the cultural sector”, it was highlighted that media play a crucial role in educating and making individuals, communities, and society more conscious about sustainable development.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Afterwards, the deliverables of the CUBES project were briefly presented and discussed demonstrating the absolute need of creating and disseminating know-how regarding the sustainable administration of cultural resources. The CUBES digital platform was the reference point for the rest outputs. Participants prompted to use it for their personal and professional development and to act as potential promoters and multipliers. More specifically, XENIOS POLIS, a partner organization from Greece,conducted the presentation of the five CUBES Intellectual Outputs (IOs):</p>

<li>IO2 &#8211; Cultural Administration and Sustainability Boosters Curriculum</li>
<li>IO3 – Digital Toolbox and Resources</li>

<li>IO5 – Policy Paper</li>

<p>The end of the seminar was dedicated to the general discussion. For this purpose, GRIPEN planned an interactive activity for the participants, using an online tool. During the discussion, participants shared their experiences in the field of cultural management and highlighted the complexity of the project, its openness to anyone interested, as well as the usage of open-source tools.</p>

<p align="justify">The FENCE – Fighting gENder bias and Contributing in gender Equity – aims at gender bias practical mitigation through equality awareness and gender competence.</p>
<p align="justify">FENCE’s roots have to do with the gender stereotyping which limits the development of the natural talents and abilities of women and men, as well as their educational and professional experiences and life opportunities in general.</p>
<p align="justify">This innovative project is financed by the European Commission, through funds granted by the National Erasmus + Education and Training Key Action 2 (KA2) programme – Co-operation for innovation and the exchange of good practices (Strategic Partnerships for Adult Education) with reference number 2019-1-UK01-KA204-061999.</p>
<p align="justify"><strong>Consortium</strong></p>
<p align="justify">The project includes 7 partners from 6 countries (UK, Spain, Italy, Greece, Cyprus, Romania).</p>
<p><strong>Target groups</strong></p>
<p align="justify">FENCE addresses empowerment and capacity building actions for individuals primarily as public staff in local authorities and public bodies, social affairs services,  and NGOs and CSOs members, leaders, representatives working in the field  of gender equality or human rights promotion.</p>
<p align="justify"><strong>Objectives</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Make specific key – actors (individuals) empowered on gender bias fighting through gender equality issues awareness, gender competence building, gender equality goals promotion; these individuals belong to both men and women groups.</li>
<li>Create and deliver innovative products and training tools- as tailored needs learning resources – based on differentiation methodologies and adult education approaches.</li>
<li>Empower them by taking advantage of the opportunities offered by ICT and digitizing the quality of learning content.</li>
</ul>
<p align="justify"><strong>Intellectual Outputs (IOs)</strong></p>
<p>The Review Paper, the FENCE Curriculum, the Digital Toolbox &amp; Resources, the Methodological Guide and the Policy Book are the five (5) IOs of FENCE project.</p>
<p align="justify"><strong>IO1</strong></p>
<p align="justify">The “Review Paper” belongs to the foundation phase of the project and it is the result of research conducted in the participating countries.</p>
<p><strong>IO2</strong></p>
<p>The FENCE Curriculum through a totally new methodology and structure educates the participants on gender equality and fighting gender bias, based on their knowledge, experience, and needs.</p>
<p align="justify"><strong>IO3</strong></p>
<p align="justify">The Digital Toolbox and resources include the online platform and the mobile application, which are be used both as a virtual learning environment and as a means of disseminating the project.</p>
<p align="justify"><strong>IO4</strong></p>
<p align="justify">The Methodological Guide gives the essential context and support to adult educators for the best exploitation of the FENCE products, tools and materials. Also, it provides specific guidelines to the project’s stakeholders on how to integrate the training package in their activities.</p>
<p align="justify"><strong>IO5</strong></p>
<p align="justify">The Policy Book aims to present and disseminate widely the results achieved during the project, making all interested parties aware of gender equality issues, the fight against gender stereotypes, promotion of equality and how to address the challenges in policy making at national and EU level.</p>

									<p>The 3rd Transnational Project Meeting of FENCE – Fighting gENder bias and Contributing in gender Equity occurred virtually, due to COVID-19 restrictions, on March 4th and 5th.
