Press Release November 

On 20th of November 2021, an online seminar with the title “ROMANIA & GREECE: COMMON STRUGGLE FOR GENDER EQUALITY IN THE WORKPLACE” was organized by GRIPEN Europe with the support of three organizations: Association of Romanian Women from Greece, Xenios Polis and Excess Machina.

Due to COVID-19 pandemic, the event took place virtually on Google Meet. Its initial goal was to familiarize stakeholders with the major aims and objectives of FENCE project related to gender and to actively engage and motivate the participants to use the outputs of the project, with a main focus on the online platform.

The seminar was open for all those that had registered beforehand. Among the 17 participants there were students, educators, project managers, members and representatives of private organizations both from Romania and Greece. The keynote speaker of the event was Ana-Maria Cuciureanu, the administrator of the Association of Romanian Women from Greece. In her speech “Romania – Greece: gender (in)equality in two countries. Statistics & facts”, it was highlighted that according to Gender Equality Index 2020, the two countries are at the bottom among the 27 EU Member States in gender equality (Romania 25th, Greece 27th).

Afterwards, the outputs of the FENCE project were briefly presented and discussed demonstrating the urgent need for gender equality, especially in the workplace.  XENIOS POLIS, a partner organization from Greece, conducted the presentation of the five FENCE Intellectual Outputs (IOs):

IO1 – The Review Paper

IO2 – The FENCE Curriculum

IO3 – The Digital Toolbox and Resources

IO4 – The Methodological Guide

IO5 – The Policy Book

After the presentation of the digital platform and the tutorial video created by FENCE consortium, participants prompted to use it for their personal and professional development. GRIPEN, also, presented the idea of creating an (e)HelpDesk for women who face discrimination in the workplace and in their personal life, in order to achieve the sustainability of FENCE project. 

The end of the seminar was dedicated to the general discussion. For this purpose, GRIPEN planned an interactive activity. During the discussion, participants shared their real-life stories on gender discrimination and highlighted the complexity of the project, its openness to anyone interested, as well as the usage of open-source tools.

Press Release Septemper 

On 29th of September 2021, an online seminar with the title “CUBES – Innovating Cultural Heritage” was organized by GRIPEN Europe. Due to COVID-19 pandemic, the event took place virtually through ZOOM platform. Its goal was to familiarize stakeholders with the major aims and objectives of CUBES project and to actively engage and motivate the participants to use the outputs of the project, with a main focus on the online platform.

 

The seminar was open for all those that had registered beforehand. Among the 19 participants there were students, researchers, instructors, academics, members and representatives of cultural organizations. Besides these, GRIPEN invited a keynote speaker: Dr Efi Ntrouva (Panteion University of Athens). In her talk “The use of Digital Technologies and Media in the cultural sector”, it was highlighted that media play a crucial role in educating and making individuals, communities, and society more conscious about sustainable development.

 

Afterwards, the deliverables of the CUBES project were briefly presented and discussed demonstrating the absolute need of creating and disseminating know-how regarding the sustainable administration of cultural resources. The CUBES digital platform was the reference point for the rest outputs. Participants prompted to use it for their personal and professional development and to act as potential promoters and multipliers. More specifically, XENIOS POLIS, a partner organization from Greece,conducted the presentation of the five CUBES Intellectual Outputs (IOs):

  • IO1 – Review Paper and Parameters Mapping
  • IO2 – Cultural Administration and Sustainability Boosters Curriculum
  • IO3 – Digital Toolbox and Resources
  • IO4 – Methodological Approaches Guide for Educators
  • IO5 – Policy Paper

Fence – Press Release – June  

The FENCE – Fighting gENder bias and Contributing in gender Equity – aims at gender bias practical mitigation through equality awareness and gender competence.

FENCE’s roots have to do with the gender stereotyping which limits the development of the natural talents and abilities of women and men, as well as their educational and professional experiences and life opportunities in general.

This innovative project is financed by the European Commission, through funds granted by the National Erasmus + Education and Training Key Action 2 (KA2) programme – Co-operation for innovation and the exchange of good practices (Strategic Partnerships for Adult Education) with reference number 2019-1-UK01-KA204-061999.

Consortium

The project includes 7 partners from 6 countries (UK, Spain, Italy, Greece, Cyprus, Romania).

Target groups

FENCE addresses empowerment and capacity building actions for individuals primarily as public staff in local authorities and public bodies, social affairs services,  and NGOs and CSOs members, leaders, representatives working in the field  of gender equality or human rights promotion.

Objectives

  • Make specific key – actors (individuals) empowered on gender bias fighting through gender equality issues awareness, gender competence building, gender equality goals promotion; these individuals belong to both men and women groups.
  • Create and deliver innovative products and training tools- as tailored needs learning resources – based on differentiation methodologies and adult education approaches.
  • Empower them by taking advantage of the opportunities offered by ICT and digitizing the quality of learning content.

Intellectual Outputs (IOs)

The Review Paper, the FENCE Curriculum, the Digital Toolbox & Resources, the Methodological Guide and the Policy Book are the five (5) IOs of FENCE project.

IO1

The “Review Paper” belongs to the foundation phase of the project and it is the result of research conducted in the participating countries.

IO2

The FENCE Curriculum through a totally new methodology and structure educates the participants on gender equality and fighting gender bias, based on their knowledge, experience, and needs.

IO3

The Digital Toolbox and resources include the online platform and the mobile application, which are be used both as a virtual learning environment and as a means of disseminating the project.

IO4

The Methodological Guide gives the essential context and support to adult educators for the best exploitation of the FENCE products, tools and materials. Also, it provides specific guidelines to the project’s stakeholders on how to integrate the training package in their activities.

IO5

The Policy Book aims to present and disseminate widely the results achieved during the project, making all interested parties aware of gender equality issues, the fight against gender stereotypes, promotion of equality and how to address the challenges in policy making at national and EU level.
